In response to Wages of Power

Long term key - From Mr. T. Albritton, Hawaii Kai, Hawaii, USA.

The world is corrupt and its leaders insincere. Governments manipulate their people. Greed is the driving force in Western democracies; self-preservation and greed in dictatorships of the East.

The Security Council is now deciding how to carve up Iraq. The rest of the UN is impotent, like most governments, in improving the lot of the masses.

Saddam Hussain has been allowed to stash away millions of dollars through the UN food-for-oil programme. Al Qaida were allowed to take over Afghanistan alongside the fight against the Soviets. No one cared.

Once the communists were defeated, the West now concentrates on expansion of its global market place by "exporting" democracy. Was it all planned? Were the terrorists allowed to succeed so they could be seen to be punished?

Russia is now a capitalist partner in the power game. The world is being devoured by the rich (many corrupt), who pull the political strings through globalisation. We all get on with our daily lives but do we all reap the benefits?

Is Bush altruistic? No. Is he determined? Yes. Will corrupt leaders go of their own accord? The world deserves freedom. It is time for all governments to change and allow freedom of expression and choice. All countries will have to be Smart and Compete.

Eye-opener
From Mrs. A.S. Patel, Dubai.

The eye-catching feedback "U.S. reaps what it has sown" by James David, is a must-read by everyone. Only a man of his stature and age would dare to write frankly, opening the eyes of his fellow countrymen.

There is no need to write anything further as everything worth knowing and worth saying is in his article.

Kudos to David, as an American, has written like a true human being, of "why these crazy, cowardly people" did what they did. If America wishes to fight terrorism, it must first stop Israel from perpetrating attacks on Palestinians.

Also, here is a very interesting article is written by Laura Miller on the ignorance of America and another by Eric on Media's Blind Spot on Islam.

Americans will do what they want, where they want, when they want, to whomever they want as often as they want. Why? Because we can. That is a fact that Mr. Campbell and the world still haven't woken up to yet.

That precision operation in Yemen was professional. By one of those "smart weapons" Mr. Campbell seems to envy. Unless he is an ostrich, the recent votes in America should have awakened him and the world.

When Americans are attacked, we respond exponentially. What Mr. Campbell labels as arrogance and hypocrisy, we call ability and vengeance.

Make no mistake about it; Americans support their president and any means necessary to triumph. If anybody gets in our way, they will be put in their place. Just ask the UN.

As for the Israeli/Palestinian issue, Arafat should have emulated Gandhi for it was peaceful resistance that ensured the expulsion of the British colonialists in India and civil rights for Martin Luther King in America.
